Our story

A quieter way to move at work.

Why a work-from-home dad in Berlin spent two years building a walking pad out of wood, with no motor inside.

From the founder

Working from home with a desk job and two little kids meant almost no time for workouts. So I decided to build something better: a quiet, compact, durable manual walking pad. No motor. No remote. Just movement, powered by you.

Why we built it

The electric ones broke. The good ones cost thousands.

A walking pad changed how I worked, easy 10,000 steps while I worked, more energy, more focus. But the electric models I tried were noisy, unreliable, and not built to last. The high-end manual ones were bulky and priced in the thousands.

So in mid-2024 I set out to build something better: a manual walking pad for real home offices, quiet and compact enough to actually live with.

How it's made in Berlin
Early Office Walker prototype

The invention

A new mechanism, patent pending.

The first prototype used the mechanism of traditional curved manual treadmills, but it could never be made compact enough. That pushed us to invent a completely new mechanical system, for which we've filed a provisional patent.

In early 2025 I built a tiny laser-cut proof-of-concept at home. It worked. From there we refined it into the full-size Office Walker, smooth, quiet motion in a remarkably small footprint.

What we stand for

Made to keep, not to bin.

Great products should stay in use for years, not end up in landfill. The Office Walker is designed to be repairable: clear repair guides, spare parts shipped to you, and a walking surface you can swap in minutes. Two bolts and a few screws open the whole thing.

One pad

Keep one thing for good.

Built to order. Shipped flat. Repairable for life.
